Thursdday, May 13: this was the view at 05:30.

As much as I love sunshine, clouds add a lot to the character of this coast. This was shot at 06:10.

The multi-level viewing area on Decks 10 and 11 at the front of the Infinity is a great place to be on port approaches. That's Ketchikan ahead, at 06:50.

Downtown Ketchikan from the top of the highest "building" in town.

Deck 10 aft.

There were 4 ships docked - the Sapphire Princess, the Radiance of the Seas, the Infinity and the Zuiderdam. Despite that, there weren't very many people on the streets and excursions of all types seemed to have few bookings. While the ships are clearly not full, the low prices of these early sailings also attract a different type of clientele - people who just don't spend much money in port, and may not even get off the ship.

Looking down on Deck 10, and the Zuiderdam.

Cape Fox Lodge, with a car going up the funicular from Creek Street to the lodge.

I had a tough time-slot for my first program, half an hour before we sailed. This is a time that most people want to be on deck, but about 120 people showed up so I was very pleased. As you can see, sailaway after my program was over was gorgeous - this is Southeast Alaska at its finest!
