A Guide to the Sawyer Glaciers & Tracy Arm, Alaska
Other Alaska Glaciers
Tracy Arm, a particularly impressive fjord, is located about 45 miles south of Juneau. At the ends of the 2 main arms of the fjord are the South
Sawyer Glacier and the Sawyer Glacier. Tracy Arm is not visited by many large cruise ships, at least partly because ice calved off the two glaciers often don't allow
ships to get even within
sight of the glaciers. Small boat excursions, either from the ship or independently from Juneau, are the best way to greatly increase your odds of seeing the glaciers.
